Studio sessions are some of my favorites. Don’t get me wrong, Utah is beautiful and it’s landscape provides for breathtaking photos. But there’s just something special about the simplicity of studio sessions. Many people hesitate to book a photo session this time of year because it’s so cold outside and they think that’s the only option. But never fear, a studio is here! Here are five reason why you should book a studio session:
1. Simplicity. There’s beauty in simplicity. A minimalistic studio background makes it easy to focus on the subject alone. Smiles standout better, eyes sparkle more, and giggles seem to come to life when the surroundings are simple.
2. What to Wear? Any colors work! You can’t change the color of a field to match your outfit choice, but you can control the colors in a studio. A simple white, neutral, or one-tone backdrop is my favorite and pairs well with many, if not all outfit choices.
3. Mother Nature. Weather in Utah can be fickle. Nothing stresses me out more than worrying if the weather is going to cooperate for a schedule session. In the studio you’re protected from the elements.
4. It’s All About the Light. In a studio, your photographer has more control of the light. A seasoned photographer will know how to use it to their advantage, highlighting you and your family in just the right way.
5. They’re Cozy. What’s more cozy than a family snuggled up on a couch? Families and kiddos all snuggled up lead to the more intimate, smiley, and cuddly photos that we all love.
