The Cannon Family recently built their beautiful new home in Cache Valley, Utah, and for this year’s photos, they wanted a location that felt connected to where they live. Diane shared with me that choosing a spot close to home makes the pictures even more meaningful — a snapshot of not just their family, but this special chapter of their lives.
Just down the road from their new house is a quiet little country lane, lined with open fields and framed by the mountains in the distance. It turned out to be the perfect backdrop for a summer evening session. The warm golden light stretched across the valley, the air was still, and everything seemed to slow down for just a little while.
With a bunch of kids, the Cannons brought all the joy, energy, and laughter you’d expect.
There’s something beautiful about photographing families in places that are part of their everyday life — the scenes they pass on the way to school, the sunsets they watch from their backyard, the roads they travel together. These are the little details that make their story uniquely theirs.
By the end of the evening, the country road had given us more than a pretty backdrop. It became part of the Cannon family’s memories — a place that will always remind them of the summer they settled into their new home in Cache Valley.
Thank you, Cannon Family!
