My husband and I made a goal a few years ago to go on at least one vacation as a family every year. Some years we go big, like Disneyworld. Other years we keep it small and more local. The last three years we’ve made sure to get a weekend at Bear Lake on the schedule. As an adult, it seems like such a silly weekend. As a kid, it’s the BEST TIME EVER!
Every year I make them cooperate for pictures on the first night we’re there. I tell them I don’t care if they get wet and messy, they just have to wear a cute outfit and smile at me every once in awhile. They hate it. They cry and throw fits, but I make them do it anyway???? Sometimes it’s okay for the mom to get her wish!
Vacations always bring out the best and worst in people, don’t they. It’s safe to say we caught the best of Max at the beach.
Which was followed by a complete meltdown over the windows being down in the truck. I guess it’s all about balance!
The water at Bear Lake is never warm, but is doesn’t seem to phase the kids.
In addition to the beach, we went to the adventure park, rode bikes, saw a play at Pickleville, visited the candy store, and went on a horseback ride. We had a blast!
